About DNF
Dalit NGO Federation (DNF), Nepal , established in 1996, is an umbrella organisation of all Dalit NGOs in the country. The main aim of DNF is fighting together against caste-based discrimination. It is a common forum for raising collective voices of Dalit community for claiming rights, dignity and opportunity through policy influencing, networking and alliance building.
DNF registered with District Administration Office (DAO-Government of Nepal ) and affiliated with Social Welfare Council (SWC), is an autonomous and independent organisation led and governed by a 23 member central executive committee elected in every three years by its member organizations through a democratic process. There are 5 regional committees to reach out and provide support to over 200 member organisations devoted to empower Dalit communities.
DNF strives to develop capacity of its member organisations and support them reach and raise issues of Dalit community at grassroots level.

Mission
To eradicate caste-based discrimination through a process of empowerment, networking and alliance building of Dalit and pro-Dalit institutions
Objectives
To unite Dalit NGOs and strengthen their capacity, and help them deliver quality services for the Dalit community;
To build national and international networks and alliances to foster solidarity for promoting Nepalese Dalits' rights;
To act as a forum of Dalit Civil Society to create pressure against caste-based discrimination;
To increase awareness and activism for the protection and advancement of Dalits' human rights; and
To act for the sustainability of DNF and its member organizations
