Dalit Civil Society jointly marked the 21st March on the occasion of 43rd International day against all forms of Racial and Caste Discrimination

20 March 2008, Kathmandu- Various Dalit civil society Organizations and DNF's Member organizations in the leadership of Dalit NGO Federation (DNF) jointly marked the 21st March on the occasion of 43rd International day against all forms of Racial and Caste Discrimination. The day itself is historical for Dalit Movement. VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

DNF, as an apex organization of around 300 Dalit NGOs of Nepal, is dedicated for the establishment of Dalit rights and their protection for the last 12 years by launching several projects and programmes across the country. Correspondingly, DNF is all set to implement the project entitled "Establishment of Dalits' Rights in the New Constitution of Nepal" with the support from DanidaHUGOU. To smoothly implement the project, DNF intends to announce the vacancy for the post of Project Coordinator. Dalit NGO Federation (DNF) raised the issue of Proportional Representation of Dalit women in the CA.... Kailali

Dalit NGO Federation (DNF) carried out its another district campaign in Dahagadhi, Kailali on last 19 Paush 2064. Around 300 of Dalits with the majority of Dalit women actively participated in the mass demonstration in Dahangai, the headquarter of Far-western region. The mass rally was organized and led by Mahila Utthan Kendra with the collaboration of other local Dalits organizations affiliated with DNF and other civil society based organizations in Dhangadhi. Fact Finding Report release- Mr. Purna Bahadur Sunar, DNF Kapilvastu President

Mr. Purna Bahadur Sunar, Human Rights Defender and President of the Dalit NGO Federation, Kapilvastu District Chapter was found dead on 9 August 2007 (24 Shawan 2064) at around 7:30 PM. The incident occurred in Pakreta, which is 9 KM north of Taulihawa-Buddi road. He was shot dead after being captured, while he was going to home in motorbike on that day. More...

Dalit NGO Federation (DNF), in association with European Union (EU), and Care Nepal organized a half day national interaction on "Role of Political Parties for Ensuring Proportionate Representation of Dalit Community" on August 6, 2007 in Kathmandu. In the interaction, Arjun Narsingh K.C. from Nepali Congress, Dr. Minendra Rijal from Nepali Congress (Democratic), and Hridayes Tripathi from Sadbhavana Party (Annadi Devi) were the guest speakers from the main political parties.
