Annual Gathering with Tea Reception Held Cordially Posted on October 16, 2009 Each year, Dalit NGO Federation
organizes an annual gathering with a view to share ideas and happiness among
different personalities of politics, development, advocacy, administration and
civil society movements in the name of tea reception.
Dalit NGO Federation (DNF) organized
a ‘Tea Reception Ceremony’ on 15th
October 2009 within the premise of its central office, Sanepa,
Lalitpur on the auspecious occasion of Dashain, Deepawoli and Chhat. It is a
continuation of the past. In the light of this, DNF has been organizing such
event by calling upon citizens and dignitaries of different corners since 2004.
This practice has been following the preservation of courtesy and goodwill with
different segments of society in indeed.
To the cause of tea party, DNF
invited all political parties and their sister organizations, civil society
organizations, NGOs and INGOs, ministers, bi-lateral and multi-lateral organizations
and diplomats in due course of time.
On the same day, more than 350
invitees attended the party representing different Ministries, Embassies,
International Non-governmental Organizations, Bi-lateral Organizations, Dalit
Organizations, Federations and Civil Society Organizations. Honorable state
ministers for General Administration and Health and Population Jit Bahadur
Gautam and Khadka Bahadur Basyal attened the ceremony respectively as special
guets. During the event, Lal Bahadur Bishwokarma, president of Society for
Liberation of Oppressed Caste, Nepal,
Jivan Pariyar, president of Nepal Dalit Association, Padam Sundas,
vice-president of Dalit Liberation Front, Ranendra Baraili, vice-president of
Dalit Liberation Front, Dhanarupa Bishwokarma, president of Jatiya Samata Samaj
and Sebal Ram, president of Dalit
Upliftment Center
were present as guests. On behalf of civil socety organizations, Dr. Netra
Timilsena, president of NGO Federation, Subodh Raj Pyakurel, president of
INSEC, Sarmila Karki, president of Jagaran Nepal, Ganesh BK, president of Human
Rights Alliance, Durga Sob, president of Dalit Feminist Organization, Bhakta
Bishwokarma, president of NNDSWO, Moti Lal Nepali, president of Dalit Welfare
Association, Rem Bishwokarma, president of Jagaran Media Center and Subas
Darnal, president of Dalit Study Center took part in tea reception ceremony. All
guests of different walks and capacities shared their happiness and experiences
during the ceremony.
Before the commencement of event, Bom Bahadur
Bishwokarma, General Secretary and Tirtha Bishwokarma, Executive Director of
DNF highlighted the DNF activities with regard to current situation by wishing
happiness and prosperity on the occasion of Depawoli and Chhat to all guests.
Renu Sijapati, central committee
treasurer, Puskar Khati, secretariat member and senior staff members of DNF
received guests.
The tea feeding ceremony was
continued from 1.00 PM to 5.00 PM.
Tea Reception Party has been
popular among political parties, NGOs and civil society organizations on the
happy occasion of festivals since the last few years in Nepal. Behind
the organization of such party, the motto of sharing experiences and getting
together in a mood of mutuality is being consolidated. In the year 2009(2067),
most of the political parties and civil society organizations including DNF have
continued 'Tea Feeding Ceremony' on the auspicious occasion of Dashain,
Deepawoli and Chhat throughout the country to the cause of assimilation and
sharing.
